ITINERARY:

Day 1 SIEM REAP ARRIVAL
Upon arrival, welcome by the local guide at Siem Reap airport and check-in at the hotel. Visit the ancient capital of Angkor Thom,
a huge architectural complex with the famous Bayon Temple at its centre. This mountain-temple was once surrounded by 54
towers. On each of the 37 remaining, four enigmatic faces can still be recognized. Then, explore Baphuon, which was fully
restored by a team of French archaeologists after 16 years of work. Later, discover the natural essence of Cambodia by visiting a
handicraft centre.

Day 2 SIEM REAP
After breakfast, visit the National Museum to discover the history of the famous Khmer Empire and Angkor; ideal to start a
journey to the heart of an ancient civilization with exceptional heritage. Then depart by car for the Preah Khan Temple, which
was probably the royal residence during the construction of Angkor Thom. It was built at the time by Jayavarman VII during the
second half of the 12th century. Lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Angkor Wat (early-mid 12th century) dedicated
to the Hindu god Vishnu. This magnificent temple-mountain, built by King Suryavarman II is considered as the masterpiece of the
Khmer architecture and art. Late in the afternoon, visit a local artist’s studio.

Note: If the visit falls on a Buddhist religious day (about 4 or 5 days per month), the visit of Angkor Wat should be postponed to
another day in order to visit its third floor.

 

Day 3 SIEM REAP–KBAL SPEAN–BANTEAY SREI–SIEM REAP
After breakfast, drive to Kbal Spean, the “River of a Thousand Lingas”, located about 50 km north of Siem Reap. Upon arrival,
walk through the forest (45 minutes) and explore the river where the bedrocks are engraved with Apsaras and countless symbols
of the god Shiva. It was believed that the linga fertilized the water that irrigated the rice fields underneath. Lunch at local
restaurant. In the afternoon, drive through to the famous Bantey Srey Temple the “Citadel of Women”. This small pink sandstone
temple (late 10th century) is considered to be a jewel in the crown of classical Khmer art because of its delicate carvings. Then,
return to Siem Reap through the Cambodian countryside and stop at a centre of the golden silk production to learn about this
ancient craft, followed by the visit of the marvellously restored Bantey Samré Temple.

Note: Kbal Spean is difficult to access for people with disabilities or elderly people with walking difficulties.

 

Day 4 SIEM REAP
After breakfast, it is your time to explore beautiful Siem Reap and surrounding areas or just relax at the hotel.

DAY 5 SIEM REAP/DANANG – HOI AN
After breakfast, visit the twin temples of Thommanon and Chau Say Tevoda, the unfinished temple-mountain of Ta Keo, the holy
water basin of Srah Srang, and the Banteay Kdei monastery. Finally, discover the fascinating Ta Phrom Temple, probably one of
the most famous monuments with Angkor Wat and the Bayon. This former monastery is still surrounded by the jungle. Depending
on the flight schedule, transfer to the airport for the flight to Danang. Upon arrival, welcome by the local guide then transfer to
hotel in Hoi An for check-in.

Day 6 HOI AN – MY SON – HOI AN
In the morning depart to the inland for a hike in the surrounding hills of My Son, a cluster of abandoned and partially ruined
Hindu temples constructed between the 4th and the 14th century AD by the kings of Champa, a once powerful Hindu empire.
The trail begins with a climb off the beaten track to reach a road along the ridge overlooking an artificial lake. This second part
of hiking offers stunning views of the countryside. By late morning, arrive at the archaeological site of My Son. Explore this
ancient capital city of the Kingdom of Champa a World Heritage site by UNESCO. The archaeological site, which has twenty
monuments that are more or less well preserved and buried in the verdant valley, dominated by Mount Quap the Hon. After the
visit, transfer to the port town of Hoi An, ancient Chinese and Japanese trade’s counter at the seventeenth century. Late lunch
at a local restaurant in Hoi An. After the lunch, a stroll through the picturesque streets of the old town Hoi An.

Day 7 HOI AN: COUNTRYSIDE AND RUSTIC LIFE
After breakfast, depart by bicycle toward a small village in the Vietnamese countryside just a few kilometres from Hoi An. Upon
arrival, visitors will discover the ancient gardening tradition of the village – their products are known throughout the region. The
visit begins with an introduction to various agricultural activities with the farmers, and continues with the preparation of lunch
with the host family. This will be followed by a tasting of local specialties such as “banh xeo” (Vietnamese pancake), bringing
together all the flavours of Tra Que. After lunch, return back by bicycle to hotel and time is at leisure.

Day 8 HOI AN–DANANG–HUÉ
After breakfast, depart towards Hué, the ancient Imperial capital via Hai Van Pass, located on a mountainous road with great
views of the coast. On the way, visit the Cham Archaeological Museum with an extremely rich collection, tracing the history of
this lost civilization. Arrival for lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon, explore Hué, the ancient capital of Vietnam under the
Nguyen Dynasty. Discover the Imperial City, the former imperial seat of government. This is a great sprawling complex of temples,
pavilions, moats, walls, gates, shops, museums and galleries, featuring art and costumes from various periods of Vietnamese
history. Then visit the Thien Mu (Celestial Lady) Pagoda, one of the most venerated sites in the city of Hué.
Overnight in Hué.

 

Day 9 HUÉ DEPARTURE
After breakfast, time is at leisure at hotel. Depending on the flight schedule, transfer to Hué’s airport for the departure flight.
