DEPARTURE IS FROM SOUTH AFRICA
São Tomé & Príncipe, Africa’s second smallest country, has an abundance of dramatic scenery, orchid- rich tropical rainforests, faded colonial plantations, relaxed fishing villages and stretches of glorious, palm-lined beaches. One thing the two-island nation in the Gulf of Guinea does lack at present, is tourists. This makes it a marvellous destination for an island escape. There are no sky-scraping hotel complexes or tacky resorts, just locally- run lodges developed in a thoughtfully controlled and ecologically sensitive manner.
Experience Jordan, walk through history in Jerash, regarded as one of the most important and best preserved Roman cities in the Middle East. Tour the old city of Amman exploring the Citadel and the Roman Theatre, two of the most popular archaeological sites in the city. Walk through the Siq and be astounded at the magnificent Treasury, the entrance guarding the ancient Nabatean city, now one of the Modern 7 Wonders of the World and also float in the therapeutic salt waters of the Dead Sea.
